CD, the Clarkson Research fleet database is now available on-line. World Fleet
Register provides subscribers with the most comprehensive view of the world
fleet.
World Fleet Register is the new premium on-line fleet data
service, the sister to the popular Shipping Intelligence Network, the leading
commercial shipping data website. World Fleet Register provides access to
a live on-line database, comprising details of all merchant vessels over 100gt,
covering c.90,000 vessels in service, on order, under conversion or recently removed
from the fleet. As a result, the database provides users with the big picture story
in terms of vessel type, flag, classification, ownership and shipbuilding. The database
also represents a significant expansion of the fleet data actively provided by CRSL,
and World Fleet Register allows busy users to put a wide range of data into
a global industry context. Moreover, the information is delivered in a timely manner,
with updates provided on a regular basis.
World Fleet Register also enables the user to drill-down
into the heart of the data, selecting and analysing data by vessel type, builder,
owner, flag, and classification society amongst other characteristics. For each
ship there is more detail to view than ever, including sales and fixture histories
and peer group analyses. Fleet data can be searched for and sorted by a wide range
of variables, and the options for in-depth analysis are many and varied:
- Vessel technical data - standard vessel information is supplemented by specialised
data fields for each ship sector.
- Vessel commercial data - details of newbuilding contracts, secondhand sales &
fixtures.
- Owner & builder information, including the ability to search and analyse by country
or company and easily generate fleet and orderbook lists.
- Size and age analysis tools that quickly perform the most popular data queries.
- Customised data sets and views, with the ability to save reports for future use.
All data selections can be printed or exported to Excel "at the click of a button"
for further analysis or presentation.
World Fleet Register also allows users to analyse the key
trends in the world fleet. A powerful tool makes a vast array of time-series available,
including series detailing fleet trends by vessel type, flag, class and owner nationality,
data invaluable for analysis. Selected criteria may be specified by frequency, start
and end dates and units of value, and may be downloaded into spreadsheet or viewed
graphically via a ‘quick chart’ option.
